Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Nicki. Wife, mum of two, proud Northern Beaches local, founder of Salon Purpose — and a passionate advocate for purpose-driven business.
I launched Salon Purpose in 2020 from my backyard with a bold vision: to create a space where people feel truly seen, and where beautiful hair and meaningful impact go hand in hand.
After over two decades in the hair industry, I knew there was a different way to build a business — one rooted in heart, community, and contribution. What started as a one-woman operation has grown into a multi-award-winning salon, a team of 19, and a community that has helped donate over $100,000 to causes close to our hearts.
But Salon Purpose has become more than just a salon.
Today, I’m proud to share our story on podcast platforms, industry panels, and stages both within and beyond the hair industry — inspiring other salon owners and business leaders see what’s possible when purpose leads the way.
Through every conversation, my mission is simple: to inspire others to build businesses that not only succeed financially, but create real, lasting impact both within the walls of the hair salon with our staff and clients and in the world to those I may never get to meet.

We are a Sustainable Salon
As part of this, we proudly partner with Sustainable Salons - a social enterprise dedicated to helping salons reduce their impact on the planet and invest in local communities. For every client appointment, $3 is directed towards sustainability efforts.
We are a Sustainable Salon
Our general waste is 0%. At Salon Purpose, all salon waste is picked up on a fortnightly basis - diverted from landfill, and recycled and repurposed into projects for good.

At Salon Purpose, we strive to provide a salon experience like no other. We are a multi-award winning salon and were recently named Northern Beaches Salon of the Year for the second year in a row! From our world-class hair services, exceptional client experience, incredible team of passionate and highly skilled stylists, stunning premises, free community events, loyalty program, sustainability commitment and our generosity initiative at the heart of everything we do, Salon Purpose is redefining what it means to be a hair salon. Purpose is who we are. Salon Purpose was founded with the heart to give generously to those in need and be a vehicle for making a positive difference in the lives of others. Through our partnership with Pro Purpose and our ‘One Chair One Child’ initiative, we sponsor a child in Uganda for every chair in our salon (currently 8!). We also host our annual ‘With Love’ campaign where for two weeks each year, our clients choose which of four causes we donate $25 from their service towards. But there is so much more to the heart of our purpose. Salon Purpose is proud to be a Sustainable Salon, meaning we are committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. We are also deeply committed to being leaders in the hairdressing industry - creating an uplifting culture and environment that delivers the very best hairdressing practices, an exceptional client experience and grows world-class stylists. We are constantly working to refine and improve the way we walk out our purpose. Watch this space, we’re only just getting started.

At Salon Purpose, intentional generosity is embedded into everything we do. This means we are passionate about being a business for good. For us, that looks like considering our impact in every way and striving to create a business that has a positive influence at every touchpoint. We are proud to be in partnership with Pro Purpose, a nonprofit organisation that helps businesses connect their business to purpose, aligning with life-changing projects that are delivering tangible transformation. Purpose is who we are, and we are just getting started.

We are proud to partner with Sustainable Salons, a social enterprise dedicated to helping salons reduce their impact on the planet and invest in local communities. Through our partnership, we have been able to achieve:
- 95% of our waste is diverted from landfill, recycled and repurposed into projects such as OzHarvest
- For every four clients receiving a full head of foils, enough profit is generated to provide a meal to someone in need
- All cut hair collected from our salon floor is recycled into hair blooms, which are used to soak up oil in the ocean
Further examples of our green practices at Salon Purpose include eco-shower heads in our salon basins, efficient and environmentally friendly appliances, and floor to ceiling glass doors at our salon entry to allow maximum natural light into the salon and offering the benefit of exceptional ventilation and airflow - meaning we do not need to use excessive lighting, fans or air conditioning. As a salon, we are committed to, and well on the way to being as eco friendly as possible.
