From Salon Purpose ‘With Love’ – a wrap up of our 2023 annual generosity campaign

At Salon Purpose, purpose is who we are, in both name and action. 

In addition to the eight children we sponsor through our ‘One Chair One Child’ initiative, every year we host our ‘With Love’ campaign, Salon Purpose’s annual generosity initiative.

So how does it work? We’re so glad you asked…

‘With Love’ 2023

For two weeks each year, every client service receives a $25 token to donate to one of our chosen charities. At the end of their hair appointment, clients received a $25 token to stick on our charity wall to indicate where they would like to direct their impact. 

Through our partnership with Pro Purpose, we chose four charities for our 2023 ‘With Love’ campaign:

Opportunity International – providing start up loans for women in Asia to open their own business

Love Mercy Foundation – providing safe birthing kits for mothers in Northern Uganda

Mission Australia – providing safe housing for Australian families experiencing homelessness

Strong Women Talking – providing domestic violence workshops that offer a practical ‘healing journey’ for First Nations women

Excitement was high for both staff and clients who had been involved in previous campaigns. We were setting up for, and believing that our third annual ‘With Love’ campaign was going to be our biggest and best yet! 

To be able to give generously to those most in need is a driving force at the heart of Salon Purpose. This campaign brings our community of clients together, knowing that we all have the ability to pay it forward and play a part in helping others. 

‘With Love’ in action

Each year when we launch our ‘With Love’ campaign at Salon Purpose, we are booked out! We love that our clients are as passionate about generosity and giving back as we are. A big shoutout to our Salon Purpose community, we couldn’t do it without you!

Salon Purpose comes alive during the ‘With Love’ campaign with a captivating window display, subtle reminders of generosity sprinkled around the salon, and heartfelt conversations between clients and staff. It’s incredible to witness the sense of community that forms during these two weeks, and it’s a powerful reminder of the beauty that can be found in simple acts of love and kindness.

And the results?

After wrapping up our third annual campaign, in 2023, we created an impact total of $10,650!

Practically, this translated to:

• 109 nights SAFE HOUSING for homeless Australian families
• 53 SAFE BIRTHING KITS for mothers and newborns in Uganda
• 49 days of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HEALING JOURNEYS for First Nations Women
• 14 women in Asia provided a START UP LOAN to open their own business

Impact that impacts

We love the impact we are able to have as a salon on the lives of those in need, but that impact doesn’t end there. Every year we hear numerous stories of how our ‘With Love’ campaign deeply impacts and inspires our clients and staff. Each member of our community has the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves, after all making a difference is better done together. Generosity really isn’t just about what you give, but what you receive too.
