High-End Hair with Heart: Our Salon Purpose Journey

When I opened the doors of Salon Purpose in 2020, I had a vision that went beyond just creating beautiful hair. From humble beginnings as a single-stylist home salon to our current position as one of Manly’s premier hair destinations, we’ve stayed true to one core belief – luxury service and social impact can (and should!) go hand in hand.

At the recent Pro Purpose Conference, I had the privilege of sharing our story to a room filled with passionate purpose-driven business owners. “Purpose is not just part of who we are; it’s at the very core of everything we do and every decision we make. We set out to create a salon that delivers both high-end hair services and positive impact in the lives of others.”

Transforming Hair Appointments into Meaningful Impact

Our commitment to impact comes to life through two key initiatives that have transformed the traditional hair salon model. Through our ‘One Chair One Child’ initiative, we sponsor a child in need for every chair in our salon – currently supporting eight children in Uganda and Zambia.

Our annual ‘With Love’ campaign takes this impact even further. For two weeks each year, we donate $25 from every service to life-changing causes, with clients choosing which initiative speaks most to their hearts.

The Real Impact: Beyond the Numbers

Numbers are great, but what I love most is what they represent: real people, real stories and real change. Here’s a snapshot of the impact we’ve achieved together over the last four and a half years of Salon Purpose:

Every single one of these stats tells a story. And knowing that Salon Purpose has played a role in these outcomes is both humbling and energising – it inspires me to keep dreaming bigger and creating even greater impact!
